NIKI Mobile Corporation was incorporated in late 2005 for the purpose of delivering traditional as well as non-traditional telecommunication services to niche markets in Japan. It was formed by a group of veteran executives from the telecommunications and media sectors.
NIKI Mobile aims to address the gap left behind by the incumbent telcos by leveraging on its proprietary technology and by establishing strategic partnership with technology, media and telecommunication players in the region.
As a result, in the 3Q of 2006, NIKI Mobile Corporation was granted by the Japanese Ministry of Post and Telecommunications a Tier 1 Telco license allowing it to operate and resell telecommunication services in Japan.
Having the above niche markets in Japan, NIKI Mobile, together with its partners conceived of and launched various services catering to the specific needs of each niche market.
